Amy Law and Nathan Heffel of Colorado Public Radio as they journey over Trail Ridge Road

Nathan Heffel and I had a wonderful time as we saw elk, turkeys, and deer; and explored glaciers, and an ancient hunting site. Listen at Colorado Matters.

Colorado Department of Transportation

The Colorado Department of Transportation invited me to speak to them about Trail Ridge Road. Being the highway people, they were interested in if I thought Trail Ridge was full. I have to say, yes, I do think that this magnificent road has as many people traveling it as it can handle.

Broomfield Public Library

Returning to my roots, I spoke at the Mamie Dowd Eisenhower Public Library in Broomfield. They’ve moved to a much bigger, nicer building than the one where I spent my formative reading years. Very nice.

Estes Park Museum

I had the wonderful opportunity to join Allan Northcutt, who’s father worked on Trail Ridge Road, speaking to a packed auditorium of very interested, informed Estes Parkians. I learned lots of new stuff about Trail Ridge.

About forty people came out on a stormy evening to hear my talk. They asked lots of good questions that made me stop and think. Wonderful crowd!

MacDonald’s Bookshop, Estes Park

Books signed while you wait! A wonderful time talking to patrons of MacDonald’s Bookshop. It is always fun to talk to people about where they are from and what brought them to Rocky Mountain National Park.June 2015

Tattered Cover Launch

We launched A Natural History of Trail Ridge Road: Rocky Mountain National Park’s Highway to the Sky at the Aspen Grove Tattered Cover on May 16, 2015.

As a first time author, I kept my expectations low about the number of people who might come — I expected my family and a few friends. What a pleasant surprise I had — well informed, passionate people filled the space!
